Nagisa knew a pet would be a lot of responsibility, but it
would be fun, too. Cats were more
independent than dogs, and didn’t need to be walked or anything. It would be almost like having a child… a furry, four-legged one. After showing Rei tons of pictures and videos
of kittens he had finally managed to get his boyfriend to agree (read: cave)
and allow them to add a furry addition to their home.
Gou had agreed to go to the local shelter to look at some
potential adoptees. Rei had an evening
lab, so it would just be Nagisa and Gou.
He was just going to look, not adopt one without Rei’s input. He just knew that ideally, they would want a
kitten.
Nagisa practically flew to the door when he heard the knock
and opened it. “Gou-chan!” he beamed and
quickly slid his shoes on. “Yeah! Let’s go!
I can’t wait!”
He stepped into the hallway and locked the door behind
him. “I’m so excited~! I’ve never had a cat before.”
When they’d all moved into the same apartment building, looking into whether or not pets were allowed and if so limitations that may exist for pets had never crossed any of their minds. A quick call to their landlord to ask had answered that question and Gou could talk to Rei in secret and start putting this whole plan in motion with actually picking out a cat and getting it home to surprise Nagisa. This had been his idea to introduce to his boyfriend, so it would make it that much more fun to turn the tables and surprise him.
She’d basically expected to see the door opening up as soon as her hand came in contact to knock, so that much was enough to bring an amused grin to the redhead’s face. Their walking pace was quick as the pair made their way down the stairs and out onto the street in the direction they needed to be going in.
“I’m surprised that with all your sisters that you never ended up having a pet.”
